Requirements for participating in athletics

• Complete required registration: Complete FinalForms registration (including proof of required medical insurance).
  • Need Student-Athlete Medical Insurance? Go to: Myers-Stevens & Toohey 
• Sports physical: Submit a current sports physical exam (valid for 13 months from the date of the exam).
• Maintain your academic eligibility: The best way to stay eligible for athletics is to have a 2.0 GPA or better and pass 5 of 6 classes. For more details read School Board Policy: 2151R Interscholastic Athletics and Activities.
• Purchase an ASB card ($15)
• Middle School Athletic Fee Requirement: Beginning in the 2025–26 school year, middle school student-athletes will be charged a pay to participate fee of $50 per sport season, unless they qualify for free or reduced-price lunch (in which case the fee is waived). Fees are paid through MySchoolBucks, and are due prior to the first game/meet. For more information, contact your school’s athletic coordinator.

Students attending Bryant, Wainwright, Tacoma Online

Students enrolled at Bryant Montessori, Wainwright Intermediate and Tacoma Online students need to contact Tacoma Public Schools Athletics Office at Athletics@tacoma.k12.wa.us to confirm their school of residence before registering for athletics. 

Homeschool & Private School Students

• Homeschool: Students must contact the Athletic Director at their school of residence to create a FinalForms account and be fully enrolled in Tacoma Public Schools, including:
  • Immunization records
  • Emergency health information
• Private school - residing inside Tacoma School District: Students shall participate at the public school that is nearest to their private school. They must contact the athletic director at that public school to create a FinalForms account and be fully enrolled in Tacoma Public Schools, including: 
  • Immunization records
  • Emergency health information
• Private school - residing outside Tacoma School District: Students must participate in athletics at the school of residence. 

Middle School Athletics Schedules

• Bryant Montessori students register and participate at Hilltop Heritage Middle School.
• Wainwright Intermediate School students register and participate at Hunt Middle School. Transportation is provided.
• Tacoma Online students can register by contacting the athletic director at their neighborhood middle school.
